If you were in foster care and need information about your state’s ETV and Tuition Waiver programs:
- Contact your social worker or your county’s Dept. of Social Services
- Check your college’s website, they may list scholarships & grants for foster youth with application information.
- Google key words: your state name Chafee foster youth college scholarships or Independent Living
The Education Training Voucher (ETV) Program is a federally funded, state-administered support program for foster and adopted youth enrolled in post-secondary education.
Eligible students may receive grants up to $5,000 per year for up to five years or until the state’s age limit. ETV funds can be combined with other grants and scholarships to minimize or eliminate the need for student loans.
